Boy and girl bulldog differences

Both male and female Bulldogs are loyal, loving companions that make amazing pets. The majority of Bulldogs also have a fairly calm, level temperament and demeanor.

The overall characteristics of English bulldogs are very much the same in both the males and females. For the most part, they have fairly similar behavior traits.

However, Bulldogs are well known for each having their own individual personalities, so there is never any ‘absolutes’ with the breed. But the general differences in Bulldogs will normally only be seen when another (unfamiliar) dog is around.

When it comes to other dogs, some Bulldogs will show a more dominant personality, while others will become very submissive. This can also change with each dog from situation to situation.

And believe it or not, the males are far less likely to show aggression towards each other than the females. It is very rare that there is ever a scuffle between male Bulldogs.

The males are generally more laid back and usually want nothing to do with any type of aggression. So, when you get two of them together, you’re more likely to find them napping together rather than fighting.

In my own personal experience with Bulldogs, my females have been known to have their fair share of feuds. And while I have never, ever had a female (or male) be aggressive with me, my family or any human for that matter, they do tend to have hormonal mood swings that can cause them to be extra grouchy with the other dogs.

Female Bulldogs also tend to be more energetic and high-strung. This can quickly lead to them getting fed up with another dog when being sniffed, licked or jumped on.

Although, with both the males and females, one thing is definitely for sure… they both require large amounts of attention and affection. Most Bulldogs would spend the majority of their day in your lap if given the opportunity.

Overall, if you are trying to decide between adopting a male or female Bulldog, here is a basic guideline:
Males- Great for retirees or anyone without children. Once mature, they are happy to laze around the house day and night doing little more than eating and taking the occasional trip outside.
Females- Better suited for children as they are (physically) able them to keep with them. They are also usually more affection and attentive to little ones.

dogs dew claw

So what is the dew claw all its next to claw basically for mating some people do remove them but I don't feel this is absolutely necessary.

That said sometimes they can actually get caught and come off such as we experience with my bulldog yesterday.

But only a small problem just literally get a pair of tweezers and pull it off and it will grown back again no need for the operation to remove it.
This was the claw as it was coming off
Th was the after as you can see a small amount of blood but he was fine the last picture is 24 hours after completely fine

Can Bulldogs swim

So can bulldog swim is a very interesting question.

In short the answer is no they sort of sink.

But they do enjoy being in water some times, you can also buy buoyancy aid's which are used to swim in greatly and hold them up.

We use the one shown and he really enjoys a splash around in the sea

bulldog cyst between toes

This is a hugely common problem with all Bulldogs.

So the main causes of this are mites skinh allergies mostly from food.

Winston are bulldog had one which was caused from a mixture of both might and food allergies below the pictures of one on his left foot that didn't need operating on the heeled  by itself and the other is on his other foot after the operation.
The next photos are now they are heeled

If your bulldog or any dogs suffers with this issue get it operated on do not let the vets ring up a huge bill for monthly medication the operation takes 30 to 40 minutes and is fully healed within 3 to 4 weeks

Are bulldogs stupid

A lot of people asked me how bright are Bulldogs?

Well the truth is that they're actually really really intelligent, but not in your conventional dog way.

They will play with a ball and sometimes listen to commands but that's about all they not too interested in what you've got planned for them they are quite strong willed and live their own lives.

The best way I've heard it described is bulldogs have their own agenda and there keeper is just there to cuddle them and feed them and to be quite honest if you're looking for a dog to play flyball with this is in the dog for you.

But if you're after a loving funny affectionate dog to have around the house and to take on a walk a day but only for maybe an hour this is definitely the dog for you.
